Wolves striker Nathan Blake wants to use his newly promoted Premier League status to break into the Welsh squad again especially for Wales game against Italy.

With Celtic striker John Hartson struggling with a back injury it could be the perfect time to get his place back.

Blake has always played 2nd or even 3rd fiddle to Hartson , Bellamy and in the past Iwan Roberts and has rarely been given a chance by Mark Hughes, but with Wolves in the top flight for the first time for 19 years there's no time like the present.

Blake speaking to the Wales on Sunday said "It's going to be a massive season for Wales with the national team so close to qualifying for the finals of the European Championships in Portugal."font>

"It will be a major blow to Wales if John Hartson hasn't recovered from his back injury in time for our next three qualifying matches."

"But I've got to see myself as one of the potential replacements for him, so that will be my next ambition, which means I'll have to be playing well in the Premiership at the start of next season to impress Mark Hughes."
