Almost two weeks have past since our season ended.
By Jamie Best May 16 2008
Almost two weeks have past since our season ended. The debates still go on as to whether McCarthy should still be in charge, whether the transfer listed players should be there and who else should be added, Freddy’s pending departure. One thing that is certain, it’s going to be a strange yet interesting pre-season.

Only 6 weeks remain until pre-season training gets under way. Not that long in the grand scheme of things. Although truth told, 6 weeks of no football is a lifetime in my eyes.

Yes there’s the Euro’s, but honestly how many of us are up for this? Not I.

So as we count down the days until we have something to possibly look forward to, who would you like to see come in? Who would you like to see go?

Rumours have already started even though the transfer window does not open for a couple of weeks.

We’ve seen us linked with Sam Vokes, Christophe Berra, Steve Howard, Kyle Lafferty and most recently David Jones to name just a few.

Are those players likely to take us forward? I’ll let you decide and I’ll try not to get carried away with the speculation.

As for general Wolves news, well I can’t say it’s been quiet really can I? We’ve had players, manager and Jez Moxey giving articles and arguments. Some which have caused a bit of a stir.

One thing that seriously worries me is the apparent divide that only seems to be widening between the club and us fans developing from these stories. How will this be repaired? Besides some stating their obvious displeasure at the man in charge, will any new signings heal the rift?

And also, lets hope, that in view of recent developments. This pre-season sees our injury list shrink. We’ve heard how Kites ankle has gone again, albeit non-related to his long-term injury. Lets hope Mark Davies, Lewis Gobern et al recover to give us further attacking options.

What about our forgotten men? Well, not so forgotten but players who haven’t had a look in, the likes of Jones, Little and Mulgrew. All three have appeared to have done well on their loans. Will this give them a bit more experience to potentially stake a first team claim?

Over to you guys for your views.

good article again, agree about the divide as well, molineu on the whole would a much better and more intimidating place place to come with all the fans pulling in the same direction, not on here obviously as a good debate is what it is all about but at 3 o clock on a saturday

Cheers K4E, appreciated.

I too hope this divide disappears but i'm just not sure given current views.

To some, it will never go whilst MM is in charge so i guess it will remain.

That's a very nice written piece. I honestly think daniel jones will come into his own this year.

We have so much talent behind the scenes that is just bursting to get out. But the question is:

Will mick McCarthy put his faith into our young guns or will he stick with the players that have go him into this apparent mess.

There is one thing I do agree with mick on. If we would've had Kightly and Jarvis fit all the way through the season, we wouldve been talking about how we will spend our Pemiership fortune and not Morgan's millions.

Its quite something when you think of the youngsters just waiting to burdt on the scene at wolves.

Mark Little
Dan Jones
Steven Gleeson
Mark Davies
Lewis Gobern
Lee Collins
Charlie Mulgrew
Elliot Bennet

Not to mention we already have Wayne Hennessey as a regular now.

Neat article. The point about drifting into a club / fan rift is a good one. One step to improving things would be if MM would engage his brain rather than his ego from time to time.

At least the season break should help things settle down a bit. Some intriguing transfers and the process of looking forward and a fresh start beckons for everyone.

In the end the fans are the heart of the club - I hope MM has the sense to try to see things from the side of the fans more often - especially to communicate on matters that clearly confuse or infuriate many of us.
