A journey through The Valley of illogicality
By John Georgiou March 28 2008
Don't ask why Leon Clarke's stocky mug sits at the top of this article, just look upon it, laugh, remember a time when things were worse, and think to yourself "thank Christ we've got an Ebanks-Blake". Well, it seems to get me through the increasingly bothersome trial of being a Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter.

They say that no news is good news. How wise "they" are. B*llocks. I'd rather a week of sheer silence from the club than another bland and painstakingly irritating chapter of the "Freddy Eastwood saga", with Eastwood playing the lost sheep (no pun intended) and Mick McCarthy playing his mentally deficient shepherd.

It makes perfect sense. Actually no it doesn't. We've(arguably) got three strikers of a decent enough quality to impact our goalscoring exploits still at the club (with Bothroyd "pledging" his sudden and undying love for Tony "the spadeface" Pulis and Stoke City), so why ship one out to a team who still have to play us? I don't doubt most of us know the answer, but it's all down to speculation at this point. I look forward to another 5 minute cameo, nonetheless.

Back on track and onto more important matters....

Well, it's another SKY game, and unless we buck the trend of defeat in front of the Sky Sports cameras it'll be another dent in our play-off hopes, and another kick in the chops for Mick McCarthy's reputation. Considering the magnitude of the game I'm rather surprised Sky haven't seen fit to brandish it some inanely dramatized drivel ("Grand Slam Sunday" my arse, have we got any dignity left in this sport?). Murdoch, if you're reading, "KING KONG KICK OFF" would be just grand, thanks.

Fear not the man still standing in a fight, fear the man getting back up. Charlton are without a win in 5 games, having lost 3 of those. Wolves have lost 1 of their last 7, winning 2, drawing 2 and losing 1 of their last five. The smart money is on Charlton, in front of the SKY cameras as is customary, dispensing the Wolves and pulling themselves out of their slump. Then again I recall being wrong a few times in my life, so who knows?

Well put John with a nice splattering of good humour.

As you say, we need to overcome this Sky TV jinx - I dont think my tele will suffer another barrage of whatever I can lay my hands on.

What about calling it "Shockingly Shi**y Saturday Schedule" for the match title?

another really negative and boring post

Who really loves Wolves on this site?

I see no signs!

Myself I am looking forward to a game that could be important .. maybe decisive to the league table

Positive outlooks can bring positive results, the same is equally true for the negative

It's hard to imagine a person that claims to be a Wolves supporter has so little brain to quote statics supporting our club and predicting a dire result

You really should be ...... re....vived.. because you are without doudt the symptom and not the cure

Support your team and wish the best you pittiful a..e, otherwise you are the enemy.

Lord Robbo,

Its neither a negative nor positive post as far as i see it, its a realist post.

Admit to yourself if not everyone that over the years, not just MM's, that when we've come across a team going through a bad spell, we seem to be the team to end it. I know i think it, and its not because i want MM out or in, its because its how its been for years upon years, voodoo hoodoo or whatnot.

The article is pointing to exactly that. we've not won in nearly 2 years in front of sky cameras and we are the team that ends bad runs, kinda like Imodium!!

OK I accept your comment but look on the positive side

The form table puts Wolves top of the league...

lazy link

Isn't that worth cheering for ?

Ha, I'm quoting statistics because it's a match preview, and I figure it's quite useful, especially for punters looking to bet on the game (myself included!).

Chill out mate, I'm actually quite optimistic about tomorrow, but it's hard to be satirical when you're positive!

I didn't realise that we've actually gone 8 televised games without a win.
