Wolverhampton Wanderers v Preston North End
By John Georgiou March 11 2008
In an interview today, Mick McCarthy declared that Wolves would be going all out to acquire 7 points from a possible 9 in their next 3 games. That's the damndest thing, I had no idea we could afford to drop points at this point in the season! Preston are somewhat in-form having won their last 2 and 3 of the last 5, though Wolves are unbeaten in their last 4.

The memories of a superb away win against Preston last year seem distant as yet another utterly deflating performance at Molineux against Southampton saw justice imparted in the last minute of injury time. Theoretically, we can go 6 points off 2nd spot, should we get into the winning habit and make full use of our extra games in hand, in reality we'll probably cock it up as usual.

Apparently Preston haven't lost at home in a night match for quite some time - it's about time they did then.

30 odd games since they last lost a midweek game at home dating back to 2002, however it ends tonight 2-0 to Wolves
