...and we seem to have bought into this media driven concept that by continually hopping from each managerial stone to the next we'll eventually find that golden chalice of achievement. Its no wonder Mick and Aidy are looking warily over their shoulders these days, after all, a manager in this day and age is only ever one game away from a "club crisis". Perhaps one day we'll be able to put perspective into pill form and it'll be freely distributed at stadiums nationwide and readily drinkable with one's pre-match pint. The demand for triumph seems to outweigh our senses of reality and we're often blinded by the notion that the grass is always greener, and I'm rather curious as to how successful the quick-fix approach has actually been for the majority. Newcastle haven't qualified directly for Europe for a long while, Fulham are still struggling, Tottenham continue to pick up the pieces left by their board's shambolic treatment of Martin Jol, Sunderland, 30 million spent, still struggle at the foot of the Premiership, Norwich lie in the bottom half of the Championship, and Leeds languish in League One. And why exactly should we be spared of any criticism? We've been sat in this godforsaken division for 4 years since relegation from the Premiership, and even now, poor performances granted, sections of us want to strip a healthy oak from it's roots and wait for a new one to grow.

A situation none too different than that of Aidy Boothroyd's, following a patch of poor form of late, which has seen them win 1, draw 2 and lose 2 of their last five games. If anything, the pressure upon him to get a win on Saturday far outweighs Mick's, though that's rather startling considering they're 3rd in the league, and we're 8th, that they're 2 points off top spot and we're 8 points away, and this in spite of the fact that both teams' pre-season ambitions were the same.

In perspective, for us, a game away against one of the league's top sides, is not exactly what we'd have wanted having won 3 games in a row. Scunthorpe at home or something would have sufficed. Then again, perhaps this is the perfect time to play them?

Wolves have the ability to go 5 points behind Watford with victory at Vicarage Road and Watford could reclaim top spot in the league with 3 points. Wolves have started to hit form and play decent football, Watford have slumped in the last 3 games, including that 4-1 hammering at our courtesy.
