Welcome to the Eddie and Ebanks show!
By John Georgiou January 20 2008
7 points out of a possible 27? Get in, who said this league was hard? I can point my finger with glee at those who whinged about our "poor" run of form, this was Mick's master plan all along- have the rest of the league believe we were nothing more than a run-of-the-mill mid table side and then a hard blow to the face for cocky Scunthorpe.

7 points from a possible 27? One win in nine? Who said this league was tough?

Ok. you can be forgiven for thinking I'm taking more than just anaddin these days to get me through these arduous times. But when you think about it, a win for Wolves these days is like a fine wine, you must swish it, savour it and appreciate it as much as you can, for you'll soon be spitting it out and downing a Carlsberg at your local, or even worse, a Carling (well, I suppose its easier on the old pocket).

So enjoy it while you can- Ebanks Blake is the new Van Nistelrooy and David Edwards is the new Cesc Fabregas, let's go f*cking mental la la la la.

It seems Mick McCarthy is a slow but willing learner; it's taken a while, but he's finally come round to the idea that you can't just whack any old player anywhere and expect him to take to his newfound position like salt to chips. After months of watching him field teams in the same manner as the dimwitted chess player who insists on throwing the "brown horsie" at his opponent (in other words, killing off any chances of success through lowbrow tactics and moronic selections), those who made the journey to Scunthorpe finally saw a team yesterday with BALANCE. Stephen Elliot on the right wing aside, there were players on the field yesterday actually assuming the roles they were used to. Which is always promising. Yes it was Scunthorpe, yes they "ay won at home for 50 gaimes" but you'd have had some of the same people accusing you of getting over-excited calling for Mick to be put in prison or something had we drawn or lost.

Not that I'm overly optimistic, but hell I'll have my fun while I can, who knows when we'll see a blue moon performance like this again?

With Watford looming in the FA Cup, and the Wednesday game coming thick and fast, however, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough if we've really turned the corner.

(Sm6) Glad to see a sense of humour returning after the doom & gloom.

Next weeks team selection will be interesting as I think Edwards and Blake are cup-tied.

Super super Mick winking smiley

Yeh, I know it's only one game.

I think yesterday was just a fluke. Mick picked those players but forgot to play them out of position.
I'm sure we'll see Matt Jarvis at Centre Half in the next match, with Ebanks-Blake in goal.
Hurrah!
