Win Dinner In The Paddock With Red Bull At Silverstone!
By Ian Lockwood June 16 2009
If you’re going to the British Grand Prix - how would you like to visit the Paddock, Red Bull garages and the Red Bull Energy Station while you’re there? The team are giving away 20 passes for Red Bull Racing fans to have dinner in the Paddock on the Thursday (June 18) from 6-7.30pm.

You’ll be wined and dined and taken on a tour of the Paddock and visit our garages as they’re set up in preparation for the first practice run the next day. Money can’t buy you this sort of backstage access this close to the grand prix.

Fancy joining the team? All you have to do is email feedback@redbullf1.com before Thursday lunchtime with your name and a mobile number they can contact you on Thursday.

If its over-subscribed the first 20 names picked at random will get to go along.

Very thoughtful of Red Bull. Great to see.

Remember to get your entry in by lunchtime today - and good luck to all Racingbulls members.

Meant to add a link to this article by Chris Linford who won a similar competition back in 2006.....

I don't want to seem derogatory about RB's competition, but who's going to be in the paddock at 6pm on Thursday night? Sort of like winning a tour of the chocolate factory after the machines have shut down and all the lollies packed away!

Jeez Jock, I'd love to see it even when the sweaty guys from the temp agency were erecting it...

In previous years there have been plenty of people in the paddock at that time on a Thursday night. The garages and motorhomes are already set up and the cars ready for friday morning. Most drivers will be there checking everything is ok for the practise. More importantly everyone seems very relaxed and willing to talk to ordinary people walking by!

Really? I would have thought they'd all be at their hotels or gala dinners or PR events by then.

But you're right Duff Duff, I'd like to just sniff the armpit of one of the sweaty temps who erected it....maybe not quite that far but you know what I mean. Still, how good would it be to be in there on Saturday between practice and Q1 or even Sunday mid to late morning. The stuff motor racing wet dreams are made of.... sigh!!!

The drivers and team personnel are always really busy the rest of the weekend which is why I like Thursday.. it is sort of the calm before the storm! Most of the PR stuff is saturday / sunday in between other appearances at the Hospitality tents, merchandising tents etc etc. Jenson, DC and a few others stay at the circuit in their motorhomes rather than at hotels... Mark stays at home! Friday is OK but the drivers usually avoid plebs because they are working.

Well guys, happy to say I was lucky enough to win a place and have just got back to the campsite. Big thanks to the team for superb hospitality. Will tell you all about it with pics after the weekend when I have a proper keyboard ( doing this on my blackberry). Saw roger cleary, geoff willis, peter windsor, kimi, .......oh yeah, forgot to mention meeting Seb and getting his autograph!!
Team are very bullish about upgrades - new floor, engine cover, nose, reat wong endplates - expecting a good race

After reading Ian's report, I have to say it's pretty disappointed RBR dont run a giveaway like this down in Australia for the local Mark/RBR fans.

It's not like UK and western European fans have a shortage of F1 teams factory visit opportuities already.

Supersleeper, this must be a little bit galling to you given the way they dropped you like a cold fish last year when you won a Red Bull competition? They wouldn't even give you a 5 minute tour of the Paddock/garage from memory! (Sm19)

How about doing it down here next year Red Bull? We buy your products and merch too.

Yeah...I was pretty dissapointed, having organised my passport (with a special short turnaround application), booked my flights to Spain and accommodation there ..... and then getting an e-mail from Red Bull saying "sorry we don't think it's worth it." Very dissapointed at the time, but looking forward to having another chance of doing it this year, as I'm off to Singapore and Japan this year so I hope they're still running the competition and I get a chance to do the tour.

Great to see that Red Bull are doing this sort of things for fans and that a few guys in here got to see what life is like on the other side of the fence.

Well done RBR.

I guess you guys in Oz suffer on two fronts - Its the first race of the season, so the team realy hasn't got into the swing of things - they are introducing a new car, probably new staff on the race team, getting used to a new garage set up etc - so they really don't want too many people traipsing through the garage.

The other point is that obviously there is no Energy Station, so the team don't have their usual base to work from - or have something specific to show you around.
