    Cammie Mather joined the Tykes from Worcester at the beginning of the first
    season in the Premiership in time for the historic match against Bath, which
    pundits thought would be a walkover as Bath moved on to challenge the Tigers.

    Mather, is a busy and (for his opponents) an awkward player, however his new
    team-mates & the Tykes fans thought otherwise as tremendous effort and defence made it the Tykes’s day. The local press delighting in the arrival of the Tykes in the Zurich Premiership:

    ‘The Tykes crossed for the crucial try through Cameron Mather and held off a
    fierce assault from their visitors from the West Country’

    Mather started many games and was a regular in the 22 man squad. Overall his defensive qualities and nuisance value won him many plaudits from the fans over the season:-

    Looking ahead to the new season Mather seems assured of plenty of
    opportunities to continue tackling his heart out around the fringes and
    driving to make the short yards.

    He still has plenty to offer the Tykes and Scotland; you can’t miss him with
    his trademark blond hair style and puckered face in concentration at the line
    out where he can provide a useful option at the back.
