To start the ball rolling, my first recommendation is Le Monde on the Triangle. (Telephone 0117 9340999)
I found the food to be very nice, with grilled fish making up the bulk of the menu, though they also do chicken etc.
Le Monde is unusual in that you get to select the fish, or cut of meat, you want before it is taken to be cooked to your specification.

It's also a good place to take a bird to.
