Rowley banned

Leigh Centurions and England international hooker Paul Rowley has been banned for one game and fined 150 after being found guilty of a late challenge on Whitehaven Warriors star Leroy Joe during the Centurions' 20-8 victory at the Recreation Ground on the 20th July. Rowley will now miss Sunday's vital trip to Post Office Road to face fourth placed Featherstone Rovers and will be a huge loss to the Centurions side, as Rowley will now be unable to "police" his opposite number, Featherstone hooker Richard Chapman, who has often been a thorn in Leigh's side in previous meetings.

Rowley's suspension opens the door for former Salford City Reds star John Duffy to make his return from the injury he sustained in the Arriva Trains Cup Final defeat on the 6th July against his former club in place of Rowley.
